What to Expect
A sound bath is an opportunity to pause, rest, and simply receive.
Unlike a yoga class, there is no movement required. You'll spend most of the session lying comfortably on a yoga mat while being immersed in the soothing sounds and vibrations of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, chimes, and other carefully selected instruments.
Many people describe the experience as deeply relaxing, calming, and restorative—a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with themselves.
No experience is needed. There is no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath.
Arriving - Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle into your space.
You'll be invited to create a comfortable nest using a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, bolster, eye pillow or any other items that help you feel supported and relaxed. These are supplied but please feel free to bring your own to add to your comfort - you can even bring your bed pillow!
Please bring extra layers and socks, as the body can cool as it relaxes.
During the Sound Bath - We'll begin with a short guided meditation or breathing practice to help you settle.
You will then rest comfortably while the sounds of the instruments gently fill the space.
Everyone's experience is different. You may:
✨ Feel deeply relaxed
✨ Notice thoughts becoming quieter
✨ Experience a sense of calm or stillness
✨ Drift into a dreamlike state
✨ Feel emotional release or insight
✨ Simply enjoy the time of uninterrupted rest
There is no need to try to make anything happen. Simply allow yourself to rest and receive.
After the Session - Many people leave feeling relaxed, grounded, refreshed, clearer in mind, more connected to themselves. Some people say they sleep better the night of the session
Some people feel immediate benefits, while others notice the effects unfold over the following days.
We recommend drinking plenty of water afterwards and allowing yourself a little extra time to ease back into the rest of your day.

-
A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where participants rest comfortably (either laying or seated) while being immersed in the sounds and vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments. There is no movement required—simply relax, listen, and allow yourself to unwind.
-
Each sound bath begins with a few moments to settle into the space, often accompanied by gentle breathwork or guided relaxation. Participants then relax while being immersed in sound. Every experience is unique—some people feel deeply relaxed, some remain fully awake, and others may drift into sleep.
-
Whether a sound bath is "worth it" depends on what you're hoping to gain from the experience.
If you're looking for an opportunity to slow down, step away from daily demands, and give yourself dedicated time to rest and recharge, many people find sound baths to be incredibly worthwhile.
Participants often describe feeling calmer, more relaxed, grounded, refreshed, and better able to cope with the stresses of everyday life. For some, it becomes a regular self-care practice; for others, it's simply an opportunity to pause and enjoy an hour of uninterrupted stillness.
While everyone's experience is different, one of the most valuable aspects of a sound bath is the chance to disconnect from constant doing and reconnect with yourself. In a world that rarely encourages us to slow down, creating space for rest can be a powerful gift.
At Pause to Unwind, the focus isn't on achieving a particular outcome. Instead, it's about offering a welcoming environment where you can relax, listen, and simply be.
-
You just need to wear comfortable clothes. You can bring blankets, a pillow (even a bed pillow can be very comfortable), socks, a warm layer as your body temperature may lower as you relax.
For public events, any specific requirements will be communicated in advance. Comfortable clothing is recommended. Some events include mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows, while others may ask participants to bring their own.
-
Item descriptionMany participants attend sound baths to reduce stress, relax, support mindfulness, and create space for rest and reflection. While individual experiences vary, people commonly report feeling calmer, more grounded, and refreshed afterward.
-
You might—and that's perfectly okay. Some participants remain fully present throughout the experience, while others drift into a deeply relaxed or sleep-like state.
-
Sound baths are generally well tolerated by most people. They provide music and sound vibrations. If you are pregnant you may prefer to lie on your side, or be seated. If you have a medical condition, pregnancy complications, wear hearing aids, or have concerns about sound sensitivity, please consult your healthcare provider and reach out before attending.
-
No experience is necessary. Sound baths are accessible to everyone and are suitable for beginners. There are no expectations on you, and nothing to ‘do’ - just come open minded and ready to take a break.
-
Comfortable clothes appropriate for relaxation.
Please note that sometimes when we relax our body temperature lowers so its a good idea to bring an extra layer of clothing and socks.
-
We will supply a yoga mat, blanket, bolster and weighted eye pillow for each participant. If you would like to bring your own mat, soft blanket and/or pillow (even the pillow from your bed can be very comfortable for your head) or anything else that makes you feel good - we actively encourage it.
